puffPuff Daddy was here in Rio for the Fashion Rocks that happened last saturday. I didn’t go as the ticket was an absurd, were they crazy?, very very expensive, but i did see on internet the show and i have to say that hip hoppers got the power, maaan!!! Puff Daddy or P.Diddy (how u prefer?!?) and Ja Rule rocked the event.

The most funny of all was P.Diddy saying that Brasil is ASS! ASS! and BUNDA! Wich means ass!!! He said he loved it, he saw so many asses all around that he felt almost in a paradise. Hello Mister Diddy, you didn’t even notice the gorgeous beach that we have, hun?!? And the mountains??? The Crist??? Hello??????

Jessica Simpson is in Brazil, more specifically in Rio de Janeiro, even more specifically tomorrow she will be in Ipanema trying out some bikinis with her friends. Yeah, is true, she is recording here part of her new show “The Price of Beauty”, and what i heard (from safe voices) is that she will be making this scene for her show right here on our bikini shops.

So, if you are fan of her and has nothing to do tomorrow, go have a walk in Ipanema and have a little chat with Jessy!

Slide1Paula Merlo is 26 years old, she works at Vogue Brasil since she is 24, and she have a lot of great experience in her background super fashion. Graduated in journalism in Rio de Janeiro, she has also an specialization in fashion in Milan, Italy. She passed through another fashion companies and now she loves what she does. She works hard at Vogue and glamour “just in movies“, she says.

ILFS: Pauli, you went to Milan to study fashion journalism, than you got an internship at Teen Vogue in NY. How was this amazing experience?

Pauli: I was already graduated in journalism (at UniverCidade in Rio) when i went to Milan to have a specialization in fashion. It lasted one year. When i was about to go back to Brasil, like one week before, i got the answer from Teen Vogue saying that i got the internship, than i moved to NY where i stayed 2 months. It was an amazing experience, was when i had my first real contact with the real fashion journalism and was in my favourite magazine. I met a lot of great people that not just helped me professionally, teaching me a lot of things, but also became my friends which i still talk.

ILFS: Now you work in Vogue Brasil in Rio de Janeiro. When you came back to Brazil you got the job at the fashion magazine but to work in Sao Paulo. Was easier for you to get this job since you was caming from Teen Vogue?

Pauli: Sure it was easier because was a plus in my curriculum. But before Teen Vogue i had another experiences as an intern in respect companies of fashion like Osklen, Andrea Saletto and Atitude Communication.

Slide1ILFS: How is to work in  Vogue Brasil? A lot of glamour like everyone thinks?

Pauli: Work in Vogue is an experience very rich. Everyone that is there are super competent and they know what they are doing and saying. But the glamour is a movie thing. We work hard, sometimes more than is needed to make a beautiful magazine and with good content.

ILFS:  How was to live in Milan, the world fashion capital? Have you been in any fashion show during the Milan fashion weeks?

Pauli: Living in Milan was really special for me. I had been before in Paris spending some time after i graduated in school, but i had much more fun in Italy. There i studied and i had direct contact with high fashion and the new trends. But i didn’t go in any Milan fashion week, i think i preferred go out to dance or have some ‘happy hours’!!! I love what i do, but definetally i don’t think about fashion all the time.

ILFS:  What is your favourite International designer?

Pauli: Hmm now you got me! Can be a little list, right? I really like Miuccia Prada (‘Prada’ and ‘Miu Miu’), i admire a lot Valentino and also Marc Jacobs.

Slide1ILFS:  And how about the brazilians designers?

Pauli: I like Tufi Duek and Jaqueline di Biase, from the brand ‘Salinas’.

ILFS: Which was that fashion show that you LOVED, that is like unforgettable for you?

Pauli: Maybe the summer fashion show from the brand ‘Andrea Saletto’, in 2003 or 2004, i don’t remenber exactly the year. Because was the first one that i really was part of, in the time i was an intern of design in this brand. I was really emotional! And another one from ‘Salinas’, in 1999, when was still Fashion week Barrashopping. Was there when i discovered that i wanted to be a fashion journalist.

ILFS:  What is your style?

Pauli: I’m very simple and easy going in my style. I don’t take long time to dress and i don’t spend hours in front of the mirror.

ILFS: After Milan, NY, Sao Paulo and now Rio, what is the ideal place for you to live? And how about fashion?

Pauli: Each place is so different than the other! The ideal is to live where i’m happy, which is in Rio. Talking about fashion, in my opinion, i believe NY or London, where i still didn’t spend any time.

Marc Jacobs fashion show in NY

Thank you Pauli!!!

2 IN 1

Beach is like a catwalk to Rio de Janeiro, is just so many beautiful people wearing cool and different things all over that became a great place to find out new trends or creative stuff.

This week i’ve been at Ipanema beach and there i noticed a new kind of bag and a new kind of ‘canga’: the “BAG – CANGA” (Bolsa – Canga in portuguese).

I loved when i saw it cause is so creative and, of course, practical.

Leandro, the seller at the beach, shows how to close it, transforming from canga to a bag:

The price of the bag is R$25,00 and (as i know) you can find just at the beach here in Rio de Janeiro.

DVF - Carmem Miranda

DVF - Carmem Miranda

I was watching, at the site of RG VOGUE, an interview with Diane Von Furstenberg when she was here in Brazil last week. Remenber that I posted here talking about her jewerly collection called Sutra and that she made in partnership with H.Stern, the brazilian jewerly??? Yeaaahh so was this… She was there in Sao Paulo last week for this ‘brunch kind of party’ showing her nothing cheap gorgeous diamonds collection.

But the most cool thing of all is what she said in that interview about her new clothes collection that is caming soon, is all inspired in Brazil, Carmem Miranda and Rio!!! Actually the name is “Her name is Rio” (mine also, “Rio and Milano”, hehehe). Full of colours, good energy and happy happy happy (I’m sure!) like our country is!!!

Soooo excited to see this new collection that you have no idea, babe!

And the first store of DVF in Brazil will be opened next year, in march. Chic!

yvessaintlaurent30779tYesterday happened a big party with a loooot of fireworks right here in front of my house, at Lagoon Rodrigo de Freitas (Rio de Janeiro), and the reason for that espetacular celebration is the beggining of the ‘YEAR OF FRANCE IN BRAZIL‘. But you must be thinking: “The year of France in Brazil, what means that? What can happen in Brazil during this year? And most, what the photo of Yves Saint Lauren is doing here in this post?”, well well well… From now on Brazil receives a liiife of culture all brought by France, during the whole year are gonna happen concerts, exhibitions, workshops and lots of amazing cultural events.  I think is super cool to all of us brazilians to have this opportunity to grow up with another culture right here in our own country, most of the population don’t have money enought to go to Paris every year visit all the museums or go have an education to became chef of french cuisine, so now all of us are gonna have the possibility to do that!!! Cool, hun?

And talking about France, of course we are also talking about Fashion, that’s when our another God designer, Yves, came in! From 26th May until the end of July, the center of culture Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, in Rio de Janeiro, will be presenting an extraordinary exhibition of Yves Saint Lauren’s life. Will be exposed there some designs made by him, photos of his life and career, and for the fashion lovers that couldn’t watch yet the documentary of his life, there will be the time.

“Yves Saint Lauren – Viagens Extraordinarias”

I won’t miss it!!!
